A public forum with the two candidates for Knox County Mayor will be held on Friday, July 20, 6-7 pm at the Pellissippi State Community College, Magnolia Campus.  Both Linda Haney, Democratic candidate, and Glenn Jacobs, Republican candidate, will attend.

This non-partisan event will offer voters a chance to become informed about candidates’ positions on the issues, based on questions from the audience.  Just as important, it gives the candidates an opportunity to learn about issues important to voters.

Co-sponsors of the forum are the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County, Knoxville Area Urban League Young Professionals, Pellissippi State Community College, Knoxville Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and the NAACP – Knoxville Branch.

General Election Day for the county is Aug. 2. 2018, at which time the Knox County Mayor and other local officials will be selected.  Democratic and Republican primary candidates for state and federal offices will also appear on the ballot.  For a complete sample ballot, visit the Knox County Election website. https://knoxcounty.org/election/2018elections/pdfs/sample_ballot_8_2_2018.pdf.  Check GoVoteTN.com to learn where to vote and who will appear on your personal ballot.
