RAM’s FREE 3-day Clinic set for This Weekend 

Free dental, vision and medical services coming to  Knoxville, Tenn. in 28th-annual clinic 

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 8, 2024) – Remote Area Medical – RAM® – a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality dental, vision and medical care to those in need – will hold a free, three-day clinic on Jan. 12-14. RAM will be set up at the Jacob Building, located at 3301 E. Magnolia Ave., Knoxville, TN  37914 for three days only.

The 2024 Remote Area Medical Knoxville, Tenn. Clinic marks the 28th-annual event. Since 1997, through this clinic, RAM has provided $8,856,367 worth of free care to 21,981 individuals through the yearly clinic in Knox  County. Nearly 11,000 volunteers have come together in the past 27 years to serve the Knoxville community.

Patients should enter through Gate #1 off Prosser Road. This is the Knoxville Zoo entrance. Volunteers will enter through Gate #5 off E. Magnolia Ave. All RAM services are free, and no ID is required. Free dental,  vision and medical services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The patient parking lot will open no later than 11:59 p.m. (midnight) on Thursday night, Jan. 11, and remain open for the duration of the clinic.  Once in the parking lot, additional information regarding clinic-opening processes and next steps will be provided. Clinic doors open at 6 a.m. 

Due to time constraints, patients should be prepared to choose between DENTAL and VISION services.  Medical services are offered, in addition to dental or vision services, free to every patient attending the clinic.  For more information, to donate or to volunteer, please visit www.ramusa.org or call 865-579-1530. Services available at the free RAM clinic include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women’s health exams and general medical exams. Second Harvest of East Tennessee will be on-site, as well, while Medic will be  holding a volunteer blood drive on Friday, Jan. 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In some situations outside of RAM’s control, such as inclement weather, volunteer cancellations or other circumstances, the parking lot may open earlier or a smaller number of patients may be served. RAM  encourages everyone who would like services, especially dental services, to arrive as early as possible. Clinic closing time may vary based on each service area’s daily capacity. .
