Smokies Stadium to host Girl Scouts Night on June 23
Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians to give cookies to fans after game
Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians has partnered with the Tennessee Smokies baseball team to host Girl Scouts Night at Smokies Stadium on Friday, June 23.
The Tennessee Smokies will play the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at 7 p.m. at Smokies Stadium, 3540 Line Drive, in Kodak just off Interstate 40. Current and former Girl Scouts, families, friends and supporters are invited to cheer on the home team – and celebrate local Girl Scouts.
“Girl Scouts and Smokies Baseball go together like a summer night at the ballpark,” said Lynne Fugate, CEO of the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians. “We encourage everyone to join us and celebrate Girl Scouts for their contributions to our communities. Girl Scouts Night also is an excellent way to introduce girls to the benefits of joining a troop. Take a girl out to the ballgame, give back to Girl Scouts and get free cookies on the way home.”
Girl Scouts in attendance will have the chance to join a pre-game parade on the field. Throughout the game, fans are invited to talk with Girl Scouts tabling in the concourse about joining or supporting the council. The game will be followed by fireworks, and fans can take a box of their favorite Girl Scouts cookies as they exit the stadium. Girl Scouts will stay overnight in the stadium to enjoy a screening of “The Sandlot” and a sleepover on the field.
Discounted tickets are available to Girl Scout members and supporters. Call 865-286-2343 to purchase tickets. For details and updates, visit the Girl Scout of Southern Appalachians Facebook page at facebook.com/GirlScoutCSA.
