Holiday lights in Krutch Park are all lit up even in the bright of day. The Focus thought it a tad nutty and decided to investigate. It turns out downtown Knoxville’s resident squirrel population tries to eat the bulbs when the lights are off. Given the LED lights are highly energy efficient…its just makes more sense to leave them on rather than daily replacing the bulbs, not to mention it protects the cosmopolitan critters who call Downtown home.
