The Salvation Army Kicks Off Red Kettle Season at Ice Bears Game
~ from the Salvation Army
Join The Salvation Army of Knoxville for the launch of our 2025 Red Kettle Campaign this Friday, November 7, at the Knoxville Ice Bears game! Fans will meet Shieldy, the Salvation Army’s mascot, and can purchase pucks for the fun Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser during the game—helping us begin this year’s campaign in style.
The local Red Kettle campaign runs from November 8 through December 24 across Knox County, and our goal this year is to raise $250,000—more than ever before. “The need in our community is greater than ever,” said Major Cameron Henderson, Knoxville Area Commander. “We’re counting on our community’s generosity—and on the hundreds of volunteers who make this effort possible—to continue serving the community here in Knox County and the surrounding area.”
Volunteers are essential to ringing the bells and staffing kettles throughout the region—individuals, families, churches and businesses are invited to sign up now at RegisterToRing.com. Together we’ll bring the spirit of the national Give With Joy campaign to East Tennessee.
About the National “Give With Joy” Theme
The Salvation Army’s nationwide campaign “Give With Joy” encourages supporters to give generously and joyfully during the holidays, helping families experiencing poverty, hunger, job loss and more. Through this theme, the Red Kettle campaign becomes about more than donations—it becomes a way of sharing hope, community and uplift. According to the national website, “the donation you give today will put gifts under the tree on Christmas morning, a holiday meal on the table, and a roof over someone’s head tomorrow.”
