Second Harvest Food Bank Hosts Holiday Food Distribution
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee will host a Holiday drive-thru distribution at Redemption Church at 3550 Pleasant Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN 37921 on Wednesday, November 19th from 10:00 AM until all allotted food is distributed.
Gates will open at 8:00 AM. Second Harvest asks the public not to arrive prior to this time as the church gate will be closed and there cannot be early entry. Second Harvest staff and volunteers will be distributing items for a traditional holiday meal along with other shelf-stable goods, fresh produce, and frozen turkeys.
Second Harvest would like to thank Stand Out for Good, Inc. for supporting this Holiday food distribution, and PYA Waltman Capital, for their continued assistance as well.
“This is just one example of the more than 200 Mobile Pantries we operate each year across our 18-county service area, delivering 2.36 million pounds of food to those in need. It’s one of the many ways Second Harvest is helping to make Thanksgiving a reality for our East Tennessee neighbors,” said Elaine Streno, CEO of Second Harvest.
Second Harvest will provide food to 800 families at this Holiday distribution. Each vehicle can receive food for up to two (2) households. Second Harvest asks that those picking up for two households bring proof of address to confirm that they live at different addresses.
