Penny Whistle Workshop with Reagan DeBusk

Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

What fun to actually learn to play this very old instrument. In actuality, this instrument or some version of it was used in many ancient cultures. The penny whistle or tin whistle is now an integral part of several folk traditions. It is certainly used mostly by the Irish, who have made it a part of their traditional music. It is inexpensive and easy to carry around. Be a part of this upbeat and fun musical instrument.
Class fee $30, (Members $25). Class fee includes the whistle and music book.

Open Fire Cooking with Jim Buckenmyer


Saturday, October 6 starting at 10:00 a.m.
Experience the past……this is a great way to visit the past and see how families on the frontier prepared a daily meal. This is a hands-on workshop where, with the expert guidance of Jim Buckenmyer, you will cook a meal in its entirety and get to partake in that meal at the end. Enjoy the stories and get renewed insight into what it took just to cook a meal for your family in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Class fee is $40 (members $35).

Did you hear something? Was that someone I saw standing in the window? Can you hear children’s laughter or maybe the sounds of hymns being sung? Over the years we have had many reports of unexplained sightings or incidents at our 1797 stone home of Francis Alexander Ramsey and his family.  This is your chance to accompany a professional paranormal investigation team as they look for signs of spiritual presence. You will also get to view monitors as others go through the house. There will be state of the art equipment and guides to interpret exactly what is taking place. See if you can discover who or what may be lurking. Reservations are a must.
