Already voted and looking for an opportunity on Super Tuesday? The U.S. SBA has scheduled a forum on Opportunity Zones at TN State University, Avon Williams Campus Auditorium in Nashville from 8:30 a.m.-12:00p.m. CST.

Created as a community development tool, Opportunity Zones were included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017 passed by Congress. OZs are designed to fund long-term capital to low-income communities. According to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development’s website, the program also provides a federal tax incentive for investors. Some of the active projects in Knoxville include the Kerns Bakery site, the Knoxville State Supreme Court, and The T River Front Residential Housing project.
