Join Rose Klix for a workshop on the practical considerations of poetry competitions

Join award winning poet, Rose Klix, for a workshop on poetry competitions at the Halls Branch Library, 4518 E. Emory Road, on Saturday, October 11 at 2 p.m. In this one-hour program, Rose will present her experiences entering competitions and as a judge of contests. Her handout will outline her judging criteria for individual poems as well as poetry collections. Because the Poetry Society of Tennessee and the Poetry Society of Tennessee – Northeast Chapter are affiliated with the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (NFSPS), Rose will share websites and information on poetry contests in Tennessee as well as nationally. At the end of the presentation, she welcomes a question and answer time.

This program may be of interest to anyone learning to enter poetry contests. It may also provide useful insights for those who wondered why their poem was not selected.
