The Winter Arts Festival at Central High School will be held from 5:30-8:30 this Thursday night, December 12, in the commons and auditorium at the high school. It is a semester end event to celebrate the work all the kids have done throughout their course (about 200 in visual arts, 75 in digital arts, 100+ in music, 25 in theatre, and 10+ on the dance team).

“We display art from every visual art student and photos from the digital arts classes; also there will be performances from band, chorus, theatre, and dance team,” said Val Sigmon, Visual Art Educator, Central High School. “It is an arts extravaganza!”

The visual art/photography show opens at 5:30 along with a huge pot luck dinner in the commons. The performing arts begins at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. These students finish up around 8:30.

“This event has been a true collaboration between all us fine arts teachers at Central, and I am really proud of our department and how we have come together as a team to support the creative endeavors of our Central Bobcats,” said Sigmon.

The event is free and open to the public.
