Baseball was a bright spot for Kevin Lane’s family on their vacation trip to Cooperstown, New York.
Kevin, the head football coach at Central High, and his wife Nicole watched their son Briggs and his teammates finish in the final 40 of 104 teams.
Just enjoying bike ride on the beach
Halls head football coach Brent Hughes and his beautiful family went to Grayton Beach on their getaway.
“My daughter Sutton (4), my son Cortland (2), my oldest daughter Ava (8) and my wife Heather and me stayed at the beach and just enjoyed riding bikes and being on the beach,” said Brent.
Gotta love a lighthouse
Tyler Wynn, Hardin Valley head football coach, shared three pictures – a family group shot under the lighthouse, the coach with a fish and one of the coach and his wife on their vacation trip to St. Augustine.
The family includes sons Dax and Cam, daughter Austyn-Claire and wife Brittany.
An enjoyable time!
Zack Gibson, South-Doyle’s new head football coach, took a family group photo and said: “My family and I are enjoying a week away on the Gulf of America!”
Special time with family and friends
George Quarles, who will be in his first season coaching football at Webb School, got to see a lot of his family on his vacation.
“We spent last week in Hilton Head where we were with my side of the family,” he said. “I was with my dad, my brother’s family and my sister’s family. We are now in Anderson, S.C. with my wife’s family. We will also see some friends while we are in the Upstate of South Carolina.”
Fireworks galore!
Fireworks were a big part of Barron Chandler’s vacation. The West High head football coach explained: “For the fourth year in a row, Nate Martin, one of our administrators at West High School, and I have spent a couple of weeks working a fireworks tent. It’s funny how something that starts out as extra work turns into a tradition you actually look forward to.
“There are plenty of hours spent sitting in front of a fan, talking, reading, making the occasional bathroom run, and catching up with former players, parents, and friends who stop by to visit. During the slower days, it almost feels like an extended camping trip with a few firework sales mixed in.
“As we get closer to the Fourth of July, the pace definitely picks up and it starts feeling a lot more like work. But until then, it’s a chance to slow down, enjoy good conversation, and appreciate the relationships that make the West community so special.”
Matthews and a lion!
Concord Christian School football head coach Steve Matthews and his family went to the famous Biltmore in Asheville, N.C., on their vacation and Steve had his picture taken while there with a Lion.
That makes sense … Concord Christian are the Lions!
“We also did Pigeon Forge,” added Steve.
No, he didn’t say anything about the Pigeon Forge Tigers. Maybe he will have that on his vacation itinerary next summer!
