It’s high school football time again!
By Steve Williams
High schools need their sports and for many years football seems to be king in the Knoxville area and surrounding counties.
Maybe it’s the buzz of the fans and the sound of the bands and cheerleaders as you near the stadium that make it special.
Mother Nature gets involved too – from the hot summer days to the colorful autumn leaves followed by the cold nights in November.
In addition to the marching bands, with their drum major, majorettes and flag girls, there are dance teams and the flag corps that presents Old Glory and many more that are part of the prep football scene.
