Miki Johnson was busy preparing flowers for a large wedding last week when her daughter and daughter in-law arrived at Mommy & Me. All three work there and even Miki’s mom, June Lay, is involved. June was out delivering for the shop when Jessica Johnson, Miki’s daughter in-law, and Candice Foster, Miki’s daughter arrived. The three women make it a “family affair” at the shop just off Emory Road at 6633 Brackett Road.

Mommy & Me is an unique fashion boutique especially designed to sell great fashion for mothers and daughters.

“I’ve lived in Halls and Gibbs all my life,” Miki said adding, “The whole family has worked for DeRoyal. A friend of mine owned a florist shop and I started making arrangements at home.”

For the past ten years, Miki has made flower arrangements for special events at Flowers by Miki as well as operating the boutique.

“We give fashion for girls from zero to 3 months and up to size eight. We feature fashion for dress, play, casual and picture-worthy styles,” she said.

“We feature boutique brands like Umgee, Entro, Ruffle Butts, and Ann Loren,” she adds. “Everything in the store is $45 or less.”

Mommy & Me is open Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Wednesdays 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturdays 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The boutique is on Instagram at “mommy&me_knoxtn” and Facebook at “Mommy & Me Boutique Knoxville” and can be called at (865) 922-0131. Miki is working to establish an online store and is looking into carrying pre-teen fashion for girls.

“We all go to church together, eat together, shop together and work together. We’re a family,” she said.
