Too few people pay attention to what is going on in their local communities, state or nation. Much has been said about the wave of Democratic Socialist candidates winning congressional races this year. They talk about “workers,” just as the Communists did in the Soviet Union and China. Most people don’t know what they stand for in actuality. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have just released their new platform. They want to abolish the U.S. Senate and “abolish the carceral forces of the capitalist state.” Let’s use the dictionary’s definition of the word “carceral.” It refers to “prison, jail or formal methods of institutional control.” The DSA basically wants to abolish prisons and jails. They want to give amnesty to all illegal aliens, abolish the Department of War (or Defense), and replace “the President and the Supreme Court with a unified executive branch and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.”
Their war cry is to win “the battle for democracy, draft a new constitution, and create a democratic socialist republic,” perhaps because these same plans have worked out so very well everywhere else across the planet. NOT! There’s nobody who can point to any such successful government, and all of them are about as Democratic as Nicaragua, where president-for-life Daniel Ortega appointed his wife as “co-president” a couple of years ago. The DSA openly says they want to reimagine America by “building a new society from the ground up.” That would mean taxpayers would fully fund all political campaigns. That would also mean the state would control, manage and own the largest corporations “to ensure democratic control and accountability, and strict regulations on investment properties.” The same things have been tried elsewhere, like the Soviet Union and China, both well known as bastions of democracy, freedom and plenty. Not! Quite the contrary, the champagne Communists and socialists like Zohran Mamdani think government-run grocery stores and Americans waiting in line to buy a loaf of bread is innovative and democratic. These Communists and socialists are exemplified by Graham Platner, the accused, mortally flawed DSA candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maine who was finally forced off the ticket after having been accused of rape. That seems to be the only thing he hadn’t done, and why that particular straw broke the camel’s back is anybody’s guess after his own racist, homophobic Reddit posts and otherwise vile behavior were documented over the course of the campaign. He was garish, loud, had served in the military and was quick to belittle others who had served. Platner lived off disability, and his oyster farming turned out to be little more than a hobby with his quite-well-to-do mother’s restaurant as his only client. Platner certainly does serve as a model prototype of the man-child and woman-child DSA candidates who are popping up everywhere. All seem to come from very privileged backgrounds and have been supported by their overindulgent parents long after they should have launched on their own. Who else would think it was a good idea to shutter the Department of Defense, close all American military bases across the world and drop all economic sanctions on bloody regimes like that of Iran, Putin’s Russia and Cuba? One member of the Marxist Unity Group argues that we are “never going to have democracy or socialism in the United States as long as the president and the Supreme Court exist in their current form.” Wow. So, according to these people, we’ve never had democracy in our country. It might be a good idea for Americans to stop these people in midsentence when they throw around the word “democracy” and ask for a very specific definition of what democracy means to them. It seems highly likely it doesn’t mean the same thing to a great majority of American citizens.
Some of these nutcakes argue that the end to prisons and jails is a “basic socialist demand.” Evidently, they do not think there would ever be a crime committed unless it was being critical of their own little idea of utopia; they never would ever need a military.
Neither Russia nor China would surely ever take advantage of our not being able to defend ourselves! Some of you out there, unless you want your grandchildren working for free in some kind of Chinese mineral mine, probably ought to sit up and take notice.
These poor grown children are apparently too stupid to figure out the real world for themselves. The people here cheering on Hamas seem to think the streets in Muslim countries are teeming with trans people. Sure they are – right next door to the LGBTQ mosque. These same people don’t seem to realize that the radical rulers in these countries throw gay and trans people off buildings.
As I’ve pointed out before, it’s here in Knoxville and Knox County. Beau Hawk, the Democrat/Socialist candidate for mayor, traveled to Venezuela, not exactly known for its love of freedom and individual rights, where Marxist dictator Nicolas Maduro ruled like an autocrat. Hawk now says it was a youthful indiscretion, but he was 28 at the time and is only 35 now. Someone wanting to support organized labor doesn’t have to travel to Venezuela to do it. Did Hawk protest the fact that Maduro let his people suffer from utter poverty, deprivation and starvation? I doubt it. That was the kind of “democracy” they brought to Venezuela, and now they want to bring it here for you. Never ever forget you get what you vote for. And when you don’t vote for it, you get what the others voted for. You probably ought to see what’s on the menu before you sit still on your rump.
