With a large crowd waiting outside their doors, Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo welcomed the community into its second location Friday morning. The new Smoky Mountains Guns & Ammo is located at 6221 Riverview Crossing Dr. in Knoxville. Their first location is located inside of Smoky Mountain Knifeworks in Sevierville.

U.S Congressman Tim Burchett and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the Knoxville Chamber. State Sen. Richard Briggs and Rep. Dave Wright and Knox County Commissioner Justin Biggs also participated in the ribbon ceremony.

Congressman Burchett started off the ceremony by thanking the veterans in attendance and for “defending the 2nd amendment.”

“I owe you everything but my salvation,” Rep. Burchett told the veterans and then introduced Mayor Jacobs, who said he “loves talking about guns.” Mayor Jacobs thanked the patriots in attendance and Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo for “bringing in 50 jobs with their new location.”

Smoky Mountain Knifeworks and Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo CEO and President Tyler Pipes described the new location as a “40,000 square foot facility that includes a retail store with over 1,600 different firearms and 200 different bows, a distribution center, indoor archery range and an outdoor archery range.”

Pipes thanked the enthusiastic crowd, “Thank you all for doing what you do, for supporting our 2nd amendment and securing our freedom. Thank you to Knox County for being so welcoming here today. We hope to have a great impact on the community.”
