A Colorful January Sky

By Ralphine Major

Did you see it? I stepped outside and looked toward House Mountain. That is when I saw the blazing red sky! It was breathtaking! Some Focus readers may have seen the stunning scene on the early morning of January 16. I knew I had to act quickly to capture the spectacular sight on camera before the seconds ticked away, turning the skyline into an orange and yellow glow.

It is not uncommon to see a sky with red or pinkish colors early in the morning, but I have never seen the coloring look as vibrant as in the picture shown here. Only after the picture was taken did I realize that it looked like fire hiding behind the tall trees. In the middle of winter’s barren landscape, it was nice to see such magnificent color light up the sky all around. Only our Creator could design something so awesome!

Words of Faith spoken by Jesus in Matthew 16:2-3 (KJV): “When it is evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”
