Easter Is Almost Here!

By Ralphine Major

When my generation was growing up, lifestyles were much simpler.  Compared to today’s world, life seemed to move much slower.  It was a big deal when the transistor radio came onto the scene.  Most households had only one television with three local channels.  The microwave oven made a big impact a few years later.  Most families had only one landline phone if they had one at all.  How did we ever live?

Life today is saturated with technology.  We have become accustomed to everything in an instant.  A cell phone in nearly everyone’s hand keeps us connected to our nation and the world.  We no longer must wait for the evening news to learn of the day’s events.  With the computer and internet, tons of information are at our fingertips.  Many cable television channels run 24 hours a day.  Even church services may be watched online as they take place or later.  Websites and social media are amazing features to keep us in touch with events that we cannot attend in person.  How did we live before?  Just fine.

Many details of our earthly lives seem to matter little as our attention turns to the huge event upcoming.  The miracle born in Bethlehem 2,000 years ago who was later crucified on a cross at Calvary assures everlasting life for everyone who believes.  The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is what we celebrate at Easter.  May you be blessed at Easter and always with God’s gift of his only Son.  Happy Easter!  He lives!

Words of Faith: “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” John 20:31 (KJV).
