Enjoying a Spring Morning
By Ralphine Major
It was a spring surprise! Days before the upcoming Easter holiday a flock of wild turkeys made an appearance on our grounds. Taking their time, they made their way down the field pecking at the ground all along the way. Once they came to an end, the entire flock turned and traveled back on the same path. Two turkey Toms could be seen in the midst of the flock. With their beautiful tailfeathers spread wide like a huge fan, they seemed to be strutting extra slowly and proudly.
Springtime is abundant with our Creator’s amazing work. The Easter season is a reminder of new life in Christ and a symbol of all things new. While turkeys are usually associated with the Thanksgiving holiday, sometime in spring is usually when turkey hens sit on the eggs to hatch them. It is truly special to see a gift from Mother Nature on an ordinary day. Wild animals may be going about life as usual, looking for food and enjoying their surroundings. To see something so spectacular is unusual, and the rarity is what makes it memorable and special. Trusting you had a blessed Easter, have a beautiful spring. There is so much to see and enjoy and appreciate—even the sight of a flock of turkeys.
Words of Faith: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV).
