“They’re fun to watch!”  That is the comment I have heard so often in recent weeks referring to The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team.  I agree.  The chemistry of this team on the court is amazing.  It brings back memories of the “Ernie and Bernie Show” during the seventies.  Ernie Grunfeld and Bernard King lit up the scoreboard at Stokely along with Rodney Woods, the point guard from Kentucky who helped Tennessee win over the Wildcats on more than one occasion.

Whatever the outcome for the VOLS in this year’s tournament play, it has been truly exciting to see the basketball arena filled with fans of the Big Orange.  It has been even more exciting to see this basketball team reach a No. 1 ranking usually held by other schools.  I have been impressed with the humility shown in interviews with departing senior Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams, two-time SEC Player of the Year.  They have represented the university with class and integrity.  A great deal of credit goes to Coach Rick Barnes for this incredible season.  I wish the entire Tennessee team much success in tournament play.  It should be “fun to watch!”
