Hope Spring is on the Doorstep

It was somewhat of a surprise as they seem to have appeared almost overnight.  For the first time this year, shoots of green and even a couple of bright yellow blooms could be spotted among winter’s barren earth.  In the middle of February, new life is already springing forth.  It has only been a few weeks since January’s cold and snow that lingered on the ground for days causing closures and cancellations across the region.

Already, the winter season seems to be transitioning into spring.  While bitter cold temperatures still tease on early mornings, the hint of spring is showing up almost daily.  Green grass is beginning to appear, and an occasional robin can be seen hopping around the grounds.  The long-awaited spring is making her way into 2024.  Signs of Ash Wednesday have been seen.  Good Friday and the glorious Easter Sunday is upcoming.  The resurrection of our Lord is truly something for Christians to celebrate.
