It requires no special training—no license, no diploma, no degree. The qualifications that are often needed may sometimes be technical and tedious. The position is often taken for granted or even overlooked, yet it is one of the most important roles God created. Motherhood.

Mothers often are called on to diversify their time and talents. Children sometimes need them to be a nurse or a seamstress. Many times, they are called on at the last minute to be a baker for a school event or a chauffeur for school activities. Their primary role is often viewed as one of nurturing; and mothers can strongly influence, encourage, and mold their children in ways that may impact them for the rest of their lives. To the single mothers, young mothers, elderly mothers, adoptive mothers, mothers of special needs children, and all mothers everywhere, God bless you for all you do in your role of mother. Because of mothers, our families, our communities, and our country are stronger. As we remember the mothers who have passed on and as we celebrate those mothers still with us, be blessed and have a Happy Mother’s Day!
