The details are horrible; the images, heart-wrenching.  How could this senseless tragedy happen again in our great land?

It is difficult to understand the evil that snuffed out 19 young lives and two teachers in an elementary school.  This despicable act in a Texas town targeted the most vulnerable among us during two special times of the year for children—the end of school and the start of summer.  How sad that these normally joyful times have been clouded with such heartbreak.  Young lives will never again have the chance to play ball, celebrate Christmas, graduate from school, work on a job, or go to college.  As reported in the news, perhaps a starting point to stop these massacres would be to use the billions of dollars set aside for Covid that has not yet been used at all.  Columbine.  Sandy Hook.  Now, Uvalde.  One report mentioned there have been 14 school shootings over the years since Columbine.  As flags fly at half-staff, remember the families who are grieving.  Precious lives have been lost, so much promise stolen, and a Texas town is forever changed.  May God comfort and strengthen those who have been affected by this tragedy.

Words of Faith: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14 (KJV).
