Turning Point
I’m reading the novel “11/22/63” by Stephen King about the Kennedy assassination. A focal point of the novel is how an event serves as a turning point in someone’s life. King writes beautifully, but his usual macabre oeuvre is not my cup of tea.
In recent weeks I’ve been writing about how things are changing which I have described as turning points. There are many similar terms, including watershed events or the original description of a “Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell. I believe the failed assassination of President Trump and the defiant picture of him will be the tipping point for the presidential election and the turning point for America.
Leftists, progressive Democrats, socialists, the deceitful mainstream media and the depraved Washington establishment have spent the last decade trying to prevent President Trump’s election (Russian collusion hoax), undermine his presidency, impeach him, lie about him, denigrate his character with porn star hustlers and con men, raid and trash his home, attack his family, try to financially ruin and imprison him. They failed. What’s left?
Repeatedly, we hear about the radicalization of Muslims who then become terrorists. Propaganda is a tool to manipulate people and promote extremism, especially in the minds of imbalanced people. The Big Lie was coined by Adolf Hitler in his book “Mein Kampf” and used by his propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels. Our propagandists are the alphabet mainstream media.
President Trump has been described as a Nazi, fascist and an existential threat to democracy by Biden and numerous talking heads on MSNBC, CNN, NYTimes, ABC, CBS and I could go on. Demonizing rhetoric radicalized the imbalanced murderer in Pennsylvania who sought recognition by assassinating the “monster” that Democrats and the media created.
Poor leadership and failed Democrat progressive policies have ravaged our country. I’m no expert on K-12 education, but I have watched my own daughters and now my grandkids go through various schools. I have observed that when school principals show leadership, teachers rise to their best and students prosper. And the opposite is certainly true. The same goes for our country which is suffering from a dearth of competent leadership from the president down through Congress and government agencies.
Last week I wrote about what has been lost in our country. Go to The Knox Focus archives and read last week’s essay “The Missing Link.” I believe our secular government has abandoned God or relegated the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe to lip service. We have chosen big government over big God, and it’s not working. So now I’ll add inadequate human leadership to our decline.
The so-called adults who came to Washington to lead the country in the aftermath of the Fauci/Chinese pandemic and a compromised 2020 election are incompetent and ideologically driven, 1960s radicals headed by an old geezer. It has been a disaster or, gutturally speaking, a charlie foxtrot.
But everything changed on Saturday, July 17. Providentially, President Trump turned his head to the right just as the assassin fired, and the bullet tore through his ear lobe and not his brain. No, I cannot prove that Trump was saved by the hand of God. But neither can God’s intervention be disproven. The president’s life was saved and we did not devolve into a civil war as in the 1860s.
The apostle Paul’s words in Acts 17:28 speak to me across the ages. I challenge you to read the verse and consider that nothing happens outside the sphere of God‘s creation and control. I am a Christian, but this passage suggests panentheism and a unifying philosophy for all rational people.
I asked multiple members of my Sunday school class if they trusted any government institution. They said “No.” The loss of trust is further proof we are headed in the wrong direction. I used to watch “The X-Files” and trusted Mulder and Scully to look for the truth, even as they worked to circumvent the obstructionist (corrupt?) FBI hierarchy. How ironic that fiction has become the truth.
At this point, I trust the IRS more than the leadership of the FBI, Biden’s inJustice department or anything that comes out of the White House. And after the utter failure of the Secret Service to protect President Trump from a 20-year-old kid on a roof with a rifle, I believe this bunch is either incompetent or corrupt. Perhaps this is why the Secret Service couldn’t find the cocaine user in the White House.
Our impaired president is too far gone to realize it’s over for him, but he won’t resign or suspend his campaign because, in part, his echo chamber, Hunter and Dr. Jill, tell him he’s “a good boy.” Biden’s reelection campaign was based on registering illegals to vote and demonizing President Trump. Now, Ole’ Joe won’t be able to motivate his crazy base with his radicalizing rhetoric of “It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye.”
So many iconic images emerged from the July 13 attack. I’m sure you’ve seen the bloodied President Trump surrounded by Secret Service agents raising a defiant fist with Old Glory flying above him. Demonization by Democrats, lawfare, impeachment, character assault, feckless RINOs and now an assassin’s bullet have not been able to defeat Trump.
Americans think they know Donald J. Trump because he’s been president, a TV star and through the media’s mischaracterization of him with their Trump Derangement Syndrome propaganda. But President Trump’s granddaughter described her loving grandfather and Melania Trump’s post-July 13 letter to Americans described her husband’s “laughter, ingenuity, love of music and inspiration,” and his humanity hidden by the Democrat media’s demonization.
It’s time to step up and be a patriot. Be courageous like our Braveheart and renounce evil. Demand accountability for the Secret Service’s failure. Get on the Trump train and together let’s Make America Great Again.
