Trump Giveth And Indya Taketh Away
Last week, a friend of mine told me he was expecting the biggest tax refund he had ever seen. No big businessman, he would be considered a man of modest means and said he was surprised, as it was almost twice the largest income tax refund he had ever received previously. He told me he credited it to the Trump tax cuts. Two days later, he called me to tell me he had just gotten his annual notice of a shortage in his mortgage escrow since Mayor Indya Kincannon and the Knoxville City Council hiked the property tax 40%. That amounted to almost $500 for my friend. The city government still runs no school system, provides garbage pickup, which has been intermittent with the bad weather, as well as fire and police protection. There are no new services, yet the city government finds ways to spend more and more money. The defined benefits packages, which increase annually, for retired city personnel, demand constant feeding, but the real culprit is the mayor and city council who, like their counterparts in San Francisco, New York City and Portland, expand social welfare programs at the expense of working people and the retired.

Grammys Are A Woke Joke
The Grammys have come and gone, and I doubt if anyone will miss them. It was another spectacle of pampered celebrities accepting awards and making political statements. People who are famous for their acting or singing or dancing are celebrated for their talents, not their political commentary. “The View” should serve as a testament to the fact that some people have the intelligence of a grub worm. It goes without saying that those individuals who think the likes of the women on “The View” have anything meaningful to say quite likely share the hosts’ collective IQ. While Bad Bunny and Billie Eilish damned ICE, Jelly Roll spoke about his faith and how his wife helped him overcome his problems and personal demons. That was uplifting to the few who heard it.
Billie Eilish lives in a multimillion-dollar home, which is built on land owned by indigenous people in a gated community. Hardly the one to talk about “stolen land.” These celebrities have little to fear from criminals as they, by and large, live in gated communities, are rich enough to hire private security and have few concerns about working for a living. Billie Eilish is either too stupid to realize the irony or just a hypocrite when she talks about “stolen land.”
The real pity is that too many of these people are so self-absorbed that they don’t know the difference.
For The Left, Any Means Justify The End
Perhaps the ONLY interesting thing on CNN is Harry Enten’s breaking down polling data. Even then, it is hit and miss, although Enten causes more than a few raised eyebrows on occasion. Recently, Enten discussed a Pew Poll saying 83% of Americans believe that being able to vote should require a voter ID. More than 70% of both Republicans and Democrats agreed as well as 75% of Americans across the spectrum of races, Latino, Black and White. It’s not controversial, BUT Chuck Schumer says a bill requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship is “nothing more than Jim Crow 2.0”. Really? “Jim Crow” was a practice of desegregating Black people from White people decades ago, as well as enacting “poll taxes,” which meant voters had to pay a tax to be eligible to vote, a luxury many Black citizens could not afford. Many Black people were also intimidated and threatened with violence if they tried to vote. Whenever someone tries to tell you today that racism in America is worse than ever, if you are over 40 years of age, you should know they are full of it. There are no separate schools, no separate water fountains, no separate restrooms. It is a non-issue that some try to use for political advantage and to divide our country and our people. When Chuck Schumer cries that any effort to have citizens provide ID to vote is “turning back the clock a hundred years,” he is full of it. Simply not true, period.
As to voter ID, any adult knows innumerable things require proper and legal identification. The Left has told us there’s no such thing as election fraud. They also told us there wasn’t a single penny of fraud or waste in the federal budget. The vast amount of fraud in the social welfare programs in Minnesota puts the lie to that, and that is one state out of fifty.
Election fraud is as old as the first election. It has been practiced all across the country, and we already know there have been illegal aliens, noncitizens of this country, who have voted in elections. The bottom line is that the Left and Democrats in this country want open borders. Every Democratic candidate during the 2020 presidential debates raised his or her hand in support of open borders. Joe Biden made it a reality, and in all fairness, he stated he was going to do it. And for those Democrats and Leftists who want to talk about “election deniers,” go look in the mirror. You denied George W. Bush being elected in 2000, you called Stacey Abrams the duly elected governor of Georgia, and you denied Donald Trump’s election in 2016.
What open borders are about is votes and power. The net effect of legal and illegal immigration to this country shifted 17 seats in the US House of Representatives and 17 Electoral College votes, which meant a gain of 14 seats in Blue States that otherwise would not have happened. That shifted 10 seats from Red states and 4 battleground states. The Democrats won just 5 seats in the 54 districts where 98% of the voters were American citizens. It was meant to “transform” the country, and it has.
The Left in this country just can’t be believed. A shutdown of the federal government, they have told us for decades, was a catastrophe on the scale of the apocalypse. They actually closed the government down and reopened it when they found they couldn’t extort President Trump and the GOP Congress into giving them what they demanded. Now they threaten constantly. They went from denying elections to claiming there was no such thing as election fraud, the very same people who claim the Russians stole the 2016 election for Donald Trump.
For the Left, any means justify the end. Never forget that.
