For over three decades, the Daniel family practiced law out of an office located in downtown Knoxville and, less than a year ago, the family firm moved to a new building in Powell. The move takes the family law practice back to its roots.

Brothers Todd and Jeff Daniel talked about the move onto land at the family homestead in Powell. The Daniels Law Firm will soon be joined by the 4th generation of Daniel kin in the legal profession; Jackson is in his final year of law school, and the new building at 8303 Heiskell Road in Powell has an office waiting for him.

After working downtown for 33 years, both brothers are surprised by the increase in walk-in clients. Their father, Zane, established the Daniel Law Office in Knoxville, and when Jackson joins the firm, he will operate from behind the desk that every Daniel lawyer has practiced behind since his grandfather.

Todd says of the new location, “It’s a community,” and the new office offers more personalization for clients. “Our father created this whole thing to help people,” he added.

Jeff said walk-ins are welcome and anyone may contact the Daniel Law firm by calling 865-546-4292 and learn more at their website, knoxtnattorneys.com. He noted that active clients are also given the cell numbers of the lawyer handling their case.

Todd said that in some instances, the firm acts not only as counsel but as a counselor to prospective and active clients, knowing how a case can affect their lives.

“If you can’t get them out, we’ll get in there with you,” Jackson said, repeating a saying passed down through the family of attorneys. The Daniel family often mixes humor because “you have to be able to laugh,” Jeff said.

“We don’t make facts up. We say, ’Prepare and do the best you can,’” he commented.

The Daniel Law Firm specializes in criminal defense and personal injury cases as well as wills, estates and family law.

Downtown congestion, paid parking and an uninviting location are no longer in the equation. Todd walked outside and looked across the road to a house and several barns and pointed out a rooster crowing. The Daniel Law Firm is at home in Powell, busy and happy.
