Knox Farragut, guilty of four errors on defense, bowed to Clarksville 6-2 in the TSSAA Class AAA state baseball championship game Friday night.
The Admirals (35-9) outhit the Dragons six to three but gave up three unearned runs and another run on a wild pitch.
The loss foiled Farragut’s bid for a ninth state championship.
Sophomore Patrick Raby was the losing pitcher, even though he allowed only one earned run in 4 2/3 innings of work.
Nick Senzel, Chase Chambers and David Logan each had two hits to lead the Farragut attack. But Senzel also made two of Farragut’s errors.
Look to next week’s Focus to see the Admirals’ path to the state title game.
