Mabry-Hazen House comes to life after-hours for Night at the Museum

Mabry-Hazen House is hosting Night at the Museum on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.! Attend for a chance to visit the house museum after-hours on a weekday and drink up a little history. Explore the 1858 historic house in an entirely different light as twilight falls upon Mabry’s Hill, and watch the sun set behind Sharp’s Ridge and North Knoxville flicker alight, all while enjoying drinks provided by a local brewery.

The historic home will be open for self-guided tours and there will be behind-the-scenes access to the bottom floor at 7:30 p.m. Mabry-Hazen House also will continue its history series where we share an artifact or objects that normally are not on display. Our new temporary exhibit, “Exploring the Extraordinary with Evelyn: Europe 1930,” will be open to sharing artifacts and ephemera from Evelyn Hazen’s European travels.

Outdoor seating will be set up on the front porch and lawn for groups to enjoy the site in a casual atmosphere. We’ll have a fire pit and corn hole available and guests are encouraged to bring their games, stories, blankets, and camp chairs.

Presale online tickets are $10 per adult and visitors under age 16 get in for free. A small processing fee is applied to tickets purchased online. Visitors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Each purchased attendee ticket receives one beverage ticket for one (1) soda or beer, with additional drink tickets at $5 per ticket. Adult beverages will be served to age 21+ only, and we will not tolerate anyone giving alcohol to minors.
