~ from the Office of Neighborhoods
Mark your calendars! The Spirits of Parkridge Home Tour will take place on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 1-6 p.m., starting at Trotta Montgomery Real Estate, 2300 Magnolia Ave.
This annual fall event features historic homes from the 1890-1920s eras, some of which were designed by the famous 19th to early 20th century Victorian Home designer, George C. Barber.
Come and enjoy the culture and history of the Parkridge community! Parkridge is an urban community built mostly in the 1880s to 1930s, nestled just two miles from downtown Knoxville, and tightly connected by sidewalks and walkable streets. The neighborhood has gained notoriety for having the largest concentration of George Barber Homes in the Nation, especially in the Edgewood-Park City Historic District.
In addition to the historic walking tour, neighbors will also get a chance to tour 30 homes not typically open to the public. Parking is available at Ashley Nicole Park, 620 Winona St. Participants are encouraged to walk or bike the tour.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 day-of-event. Visit the Parkridge Community Organization webpage for more information, to purchase tickets, and learn more about Parkridge history.
