Obsession
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.

Where do they find these corporate “marketeers?” I’m not talking about the old Disney Mouseketeers, who knew their audience and could sing the club song without misspelling Mickey’s name. These modern collegiate marketing geniuses can’t seem to manage the equivalent of “spelling” because they apparently have little understanding of their customer base or product branding. It is obvious that Cracker Barrel’s CEO and the board of directors who hired her learned nothing from the Bud Light marketing disaster.
Andrew Breitbart said, “Politics is downstream from culture.” However, 2025 business executives apparently live in a bubble and don’t realize that American culture has shifted under President Trump. Progressive Democrat wokeness, CRT, BLM, DEI, etc., are dead. The brain trust at Cracker Barrel certainly doesn’t realize this. But as I began this essay, reality dawned on them because the old logo has been reestablished and a tentative mea culpa has been issued. Now they need to fire the clueless CEO and the board who hired her which cost the company tens of millions of dollars.
The public reaction to Cracker Barrel’s Progressive makeover is reflective of the sentiment in America. The so-called silent majority is angry and wants to fix what is wrong in the country, not perpetuate the Obama-Biden destruction. Mother Teresa once said that “Not everyone can do great things, but everyone can do small things with great love.” President Trump loves America and is already doing great things for our country, including offering business advice to corporate America.
But President Trump can’t do it alone. There are things that all patriotic Americans can do. We can vote and throw the bums out. We can howl on social media, which has become so diverse that our opinions can’t be suppressed. We can boycott products and companies. I do all of these with a passion. And I use this column to encourage others. The country is not lost, and together we can Make America Great Again.
Like some in corporate America, the Democrats haven’t figured out that there is a cultural shift underway as a reaction to their failed policies. Apparently, Democrats can’t understand why voters are leaving the party and joining the MAGA cause. I exclude Washington RINOs (Republican in name only) from this calculus because that wing of the GOP is dead, just like the old guard Democrats have been sidelined by the young radical progressives and socialists (also known as the communist-light bunch). The Democrat Party spent $20 million trying to find out why young men don’t identify with their stupid message. And then the Democrats attacked Sydney Sweeney. Their misguided ridicule of a blue jean commercial may resonate with OWLs (old white liberals) or Democrat Karens, but not with males, especially young ones.
American novelist Herman Melville’s masterpiece “Moby Dick” is oh so relevant today. The central character of the book is Ahab, the captain of a 19th-century whaling ship. Ahab is obsessed with the great white whale Moby Dick, which took off his leg during a previous whaling expedition. Ahab’s obsession destroyed him, his ship and crew. Ahab was deranged.
The Democrats and their sycophant media have chased the Orange Man for a decade across the sea of America. Their obsession has led to the destruction of journalism in the legacy media, which are no longer considered credible. And their orange menace has crippled the Democrat Party which now limps without policies and whose only focus is to destroy President Trump.
The latest sighting of the great orange “whale” was in Washington, D.C., where he brought the daily carnage of murder, robbery, drug use, carjacking and vagrancy to historic lows. And yes, we again use the correct term of vagrancy rather than using the euphemistic appellation of homelessness. President Trump has changed politics, culture (Kennedy Center), anti-American Washington museums and is even changing geography (Gulf of America).
The Democrats and their base have become delusional, dysfunctional and dangerous. An example is the woman in Chicago whose arm was broken in a mugging, but would sacrifice her safety rather than allow Trump to make Chicago safe again. And do you remember when Chuckie Schumer told Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch that they would “pay the price” if the justices voted to change Roe v. Wade and “release the whirlwind?” Well, Schumer is paying the price because the radical base he and other Democrats used as shock troops in their war against President Trump, are vowing to primary him with AOC.
As I was finishing this essay, tragedy struck. Children were murdered in a church service in Minneapolis by another “trans-shooter,” echoing the shooting in Nashville two years ago and a half dozen other similar tragedies. It was Rahm Emmanuel who said, “never let a crisis go to waste.” And they didn’t. The Progressive Democrat mayor of Minneapolis took the opportunity to defend trans people rather than the children who were murdered and injured. The governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, championed his state as a Mecca for trans individuals. And former White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, ridiculed prayer, favoring government gun control rather than God.
Poet Joseph Massey eloquently expressed my feelings about prayer being necessary, especially in times of crisis: “Prayer is part of a chain of action. We pray to fill our minds and hearts with God so we can, with free will, cooperate with His will. Cackling demons mocking prayer don’t know what they’re cackling about. Liars. They do the bidding of their master, the greatest liar of all.”
The problem is not guns, it is mental illness. It is estimated that one in five American adults has a mental illness. And using surgery and a lifetime of hormone therapy will not fix the psychiatric problem of gender dysphoria. Nor can government or laws prevent crime. A deranged person will find a way to commit heinous acts.
Becky and I were recently the victims of crime at our home. Since we have no mental illness and have committed no crimes, we claim the right as American citizens to have guns for self-defense. Taking away the right of law-abiding American adults without mental illness to have arms for self-defense is illogical, inappropriate and politically motivated.
