Evidence

Something that furnishes proof.

What if everything you’ve been told or led to believe is proven false? What if evidence shows that Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton conspired in 2015 with FBI Director James Comey, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan to destroy the newly elected President Trump in an American coup d’etat?

These stunning allegations were made last week by Tulsi Gabbard, the director of National Intelligence, after extensive review of government records and documents. DNI Gabbard labeled the collusion (code named Crossfire Hurricane), a “treasonous conspiracy” to bring down the president of the United States by leaking disinformation to the press that resulted in impeachment of President Trump. The so-called Russiagate lie that Trump was a Putin ally was ridiculous, but was spread by the media like chum in the water. This scandal is far worse than the Watergate scandal of Richard Nixon’s presidency or the lies that Joe Biden was competent and was president rather than “Otto Pen.”

Not surprisingly, the mainstream media (MSM) essentially ignored Gabbard’s announcement of her findings and that she was referring her evidence to the Department of Justice (DOJ). If the DOJ finds the information credible, a grand jury will likely be convened to consider the evidence. Possible criminal referrals for prosecution may be the result. Trials may ensue unless there is plea bargaining along the way. It’s complicated and messy, but designed to protect citizens from a powerful government. At least that’s what it is supposed to do.

Democrats have repeatedly gone after President Trump through lawfare and impeachments. I give Democrats credit for understanding the existential threat President Trump poses to their radical agenda. He is the antithesis of what the Democrat party has become. Progressive radicals like AOC, Jasmine Crockett and Democratic Socialists (communists) like NY’s Mamdani now control the so-called Democrat moderates like Schumer or even Pelosi.

Trump has prevailed against Democrat machinations and even survived two assassination attempts. This current scandal is far more than political tit-for-tat. The allegations are stunning and allegedly supported by hard evidence which seem to corroborate what many have been saying for years. Democrats have crowed that “No one is above the law.” I agree. Allegations are not evidence (proven facts) and people are innocent until proven guilty – unless you are President Trump in New York.

I keep my radar tuned for column topics, but I no longer worry about finding something to write about. Topical events find me. There is an old adage which says, where there is smoke there is fire. And this current scandal, which some are now labeling as Obamagate, has the makings of a five alarm fire.

The MSM does not want to talk about Obamagate, but it is not going away. They would rather talk about an alleged Epstein birthday book from 2003 or controversies over the release of the Epstein files. However, the MSM has lost their credibility and is being replaced by the alternative media.  Trump again has the presidential “Bully Pulpit” and can now get his message out on Truth Social. He no longer has to rely on the legacy media. Furthermore, Democrats are no longer in power and Obama has lost his swagger and relevancy.

President Trump has gone through the baptism of fire with Democrat lawfare. We will see how Obama and his conspiratorial coterie fare. But I’m more interested in the mindset of rank and file Democrats. When does reality set in? Will they acknowledge that there may be fire amidst the smoke? Will rational Democrats deny the investigation process or consider the evidence? Or are they too far gone?

Notably, I exclude those with TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) because by definition they are delusional and only reachable by the hand of God. I pray for these lost souls. But for rational Democrats the questions are valid.

Unfortunately, legal proceedings and trials are imperfect instruments of justice. We have a representative republic form of government where we democratically elect imperfect men/women to represent us. Supposedly, elected officials understand the Constitution which outlines the laws and conduct of citizens, including officials. Unfortunately, in recent years we have seen repeated abuses of the legal system in New York, Georgia, etc.. And unelected – arguably corrupt – Federal judges have been allowed to subvert the will of the people and the duly elected President of the United States.

Ancient cultures constructed their civilizations on what we now call the cardinal virtues. These are courage, common sense, justice and moderation. Aristotle wrote extensively on these virtues in his Nicomachean Ethics, describing how to achieve “the good life” through balance and reason.

Unfortunately, the cardinal virtues driven by morality are sometimes insufficient to curb the baser aspects of mankind. The Apostle Paul, who was no shoddy philosopher, described what we now understand as the theological virtues. In 1 Corinthians 13:13 Paul describes the guiding principles (moral precepts) of faith, hope and love. I see these as the rudder of my ship. As a practical example, even though stealing is against man’s law, I don’t steal because it is against the higher authority of God’s law.

I am certainly not advocating a theocracy, but if God’s moral code was the driving force in our lives, our actions would be more virtuous and we would live happier lives with less conflict.

I am blessed to have lived long enough to understand these concepts which I have integrated into my life. I begin each day with spiritual journaling and prayer, asking for strength, courage and wisdom. Aristotle lived 500 years before Jesus and Paul, but I think he understood that the virtues and purpose are integral to success and happiness.

The evidence of God’s majestic creation is all around us. So, I thank God each day for life, wife and salvation through Jesus Christ. These virtuous truths keep me looking up.
