Tennessee General Assembly Approves New Legislative Districts In Special-Called Meeting

Last Thursday, the Tennessee General Assembly redistricted the last remaining Democratic congressional district in the state.  Naturally, the Democrat-Socialists squealed, squalled, shot off air horns and sniveled about “democracy,” something they’ve truly not cared about since Bill Clinton.  While some Democrat-Socialists in the legislature squealed about the death of democracy, none uttered a peep about a gasping democracy when the Democrat-Socialists, egged on by Barack Obama, cited paring down five GOP districts in Virginia to only one as an exercise in democracy.  If so, then the Tennessee General Assembly just completed its own exercise in democracy.  Those folks who hate our flag, our country and our way of life and everything about the United States hold no moral high ground of any kind.  The folks who think criminals are the real victims and can’t applaud a teenager struggling with terminal cancer or utter the name of a young woman raped and murdered because her assailant and murderer was an illegal alien have no moral superiority of any kind.  People who applaud political violence and openly call for the killing of their political opponents are not even moral people.  Nor do they seem to know the difference anymore.

When the Supreme Court of our country issues a decision they like, the Democrat-Socialists squeal, “It’s the law of the land!”  If they don’t like it, the court is illegitimate.  The Democrat-Socialists are well beyond reason.  Obviously, anybody who thinks a man in a dress is a “real” woman or that a man can breastfeed has lost touch with reality some time ago and no longer has the ability to reason.

Let’s just call it what it is: nakedly partisan politics, and if it was right in Virginia, it’s right in Tennessee.  You Democrat-Socialists got the same heaping helping of democracy you fed Republicans in Virginia.  Yum, yum!

Obama Hypocrisy

Speaking of Barack Obama, the former president made an interesting and astonishing statement in an interview with CBS, saying, “The White House shouldn’t be able to direct the attorney general to go around prosecuting whoever the president wants prosecuted.

“The awesome power of the state, you can’t have a situation where whoever is in charge of the government starts using that to go after their political enemies or reward their friends.”

Really?  That after evidence was uncovered that Obama directed the creation of a false intelligence report to launch what became known as the Russia hoax.

Obama told that world-renowned journalist Stephen Colbert, “The idea is that the attorney general is the people’s lawyer and not the president’s consigliere.”  That from a former president whose own attorney general, Eric Holder, described himself as Obama’s “wingman.”  So much for the people’s lawyer.

Obama did say one thing that is most certainly true.  “We can survive a lot, bad policy, funky elections, there’s a bunch of stuff that we can overcome, we can’t overcome the politicization of the criminal justice system.”  That is the first step into an authoritarian government and the death knell of freedom and liberty.  Unfortunately, Obama did it and so did Joe Biden.  There is good reason to wonder if Obama means what he says or if he just doesn’t like it under a Republican president.  Obama never was worried about lawfare under Biden, so it might be like his promise that you can keep your own doctor under Obamacare, which was a great big fat lie.

Go, Marsha, Go!

US Senator Marsha Blackburn seems to be building her lead in the Republican race for governor to succeed Bill Lee, who is term-limited in office.  A new poll shows Blackburn up to 63% while Congressman John Rose has 10%, followed by Monty Fritts, a state representative, with 5%.  Only 22% of GOP voters say they are undecided.

State Senator Brent Taylor has announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination for the 9th Congressional District.  Taylor has been an outspoken advocate for the victims of crime and a critic of Democratic-Socialist inaction in Shelby County in prosecuting criminals.  Taylor has put up $1 million dollars of his own money to help kick off his congressional race.

Low Turnout In Local Primary Election

Voters went to the polls last week to select their preferences for most local offices, including most of the offices in the courthouse, as well as county commissioners and school board members.  Even with the usually hotly contested offices of county mayor and sheriff on the ballot, the “people” were conspicuous by their absence.  Under 16% of the eligible voters actually cast their ballots to select the nominees of the Republican and Democratic parties for important local offices.

The general election will be held in August when the state primaries will occur.  There will be a contested primary for the Republican nomination for governor, which should draw voters to the polls.  We hope people will cast a ballot and let their voice be heard.
