Annual Action Plan Public Meeting and Hearing
Knox County Community Development
The Knox County Grants & Community Development (KCGCD) office is releasing its PY2023 Annual Action Plan Update to the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. Knox County’s Consolidated Plan establishes funding priorities, outlines strategies, and identifies yearly action plans for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) programs offered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). To qualify for Federal HUD funding, Knox County must complete a Consolidated Plan every five years and provide yearly updates.
The Annual Action Plan for PY2023 describes how the County intends to expend its allocation of PY2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds as well its Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
In order to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties, the County will post its proposed PY2023 Annual Action Plan online at www.knoxcounty.org/communitydevelopment from March 24 through April 25, 2023. Knox County residents are encouraged to share their verbal or written comments about the County’s proposed Action Plan and funding goals at a public meeting, which will take place at the Fountain City Branch Library (5300 Stanton Road, Knoxville, TN 37918) on Thursday, April 13th at 2:00pm.
Citizens are also encouraged to share input at the public hearing, which will take place during the regularly scheduled County Commission meeting at 5:00 PM on April 24, 2023, located in the Large Assembly Room on the Main Level of the City/County Building. The County will incorporate all comments recorded during the hearing into the proposed 2023 Action Plan.
Comments may also be submitted by email to cdfeedback@knoxcounty.org or by mail to Knox County Grants & Community Development, City/County Building, Suite 364, Knoxville, TN 37902. All comments must be received no later than Tuesday, April 25, 2023. It is anticipated that the 2023 Annual Action Plan will be submitted to HUD on or before May 15, 2023.
