On 022213 about 2121, officers with the Knoxville Police Department responded to a home invasion with shots fired at 3000 block of E. Fifth avenue.   Upon arrival, officers located 4 females and 2 males who advised that they had been robbed.   The victims stated that 3 masked males had entered the unlocked front door and ordered them all into a small room.   One of the suspects was armed with a shotgun and one was armed with a small handgun.   The suspects struck one of the male victims in the head with the butt of the pistol and struck the second male victim in the head with the butt of the shotgun.   The suspects then took 3 of the female victims purses and fled the scene on foot.   At some point during the robbery, the suspect with the shotgun fired one shot but nobody was hit.   Both male victims refused medical treatment and none of the females were injured.   Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knoxville Police Department.
