Spend your New Year’s Eve amid the swirl of spirited activity of downtown Knoxville, and welcome 2018 with a bang.

New Year’s Eve on Market Square, presented by Lloyd’s Electric Service Inc., is a family-friendly celebration featuring live music, a ball drop, fireworks at midnight, an “Auld Lang Syne” sing-along and a lighted “2018” sign.

The Holidays on Ice open-air ice skating rink will be open from 1-10 p.m. The Bicho Brothers will start performing classic rock favorites on the Market Square stage at 10 p.m. A slideshow of memorable events from 2017 will screen above the Market Square stage. The countdown begins at 11:55 p.m., followed by the ball drop and fireworks at midnight.

No mobile food or alcohol sales will take place on the square. Nearby restaurants, including those participating in the Peppermint Trail, will be open and offering specials; call ahead for dinner reservations.
