“The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born; now is the time of monsters.”
– Zohran Mamdani, Mayor of New York City
“The dancing days of the dirtbag left”
– Senator John Fetterman (D-PA)
The recent statement by Zohran Momdani was certainly not original to him. In fact, it was a quote from Antonio Gramsci, a co-founder of the Communist Party in Italy. The “monster” to which Mamdani was pointing in his verbal assault was AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. AIPAC is comprised of and funded by Americans who support Israel, the only genuine democracy in the Middle East. Conflict between Muslims and Jews has been ongoing for millennia and is nothing new. What is new is the remarkably open antisemitism of the far left, which is gobbling up what is left of the Democratic Party. Mamdani’s speech was part of a get-out-the-vote drive in New York in the congressional primary, where two incumbents were being challenged by the new left. Dan Goldman was anything but a centrist, and his “progressive” views were unblemished with one exception. Goldman, who is Jewish, was a supporter of Israel. Goldman had been one of the lead congressmen who fought to impeach President Trump during his first term. Goldman was soundly defeated inside the Democratic primary by New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, who is also Jewish, but unlike Goldman, ran as a supporter of Palestine and against Israel. Mamdani supported Lander, as well as two others inside Democratic primaries, both of whom were successful. These candidates are not even really socialists as much as they are full-blown communists. All of them oppose the United States having any kind of borders, they support the abolition of ICE, and at least one of the three supports abolishing prisons without a clear policy on abolishing crime or criminals. While these candidates talk about “democracy,” it is like the deep and dark and soulless eyes of a deadly predator. It is an empty, meaningless word coming out of the mouth of an individual using it as a prop to accomplish something as far from democracy as the sun is from Pluto. They, along with with Mamdani, apparently share the same hatred for Jews.
It is nothing new for big city Democrats, who have little or nothing in common with other voters, to embrace political philosophies that promise so much. Yet in every instance throughout world history, they have delivered nothing but misery except for a favored few who want to rule over everyone else. True socialism has never delivered excellent universal healthcare; what it has delivered instead is an endless maze of red tape and bureaucracy, which oftentimes outlives the lifespan of the sick person. There has been no great scientific achievement or discovery that has come from a truly socialist or communist country. Both the Soviet Union and Communist China made strategic gains and developed what little they could technologically through espionage and literally stealing information, plans, and intellectual properties. They also made great strides by sending their students to be educated at American colleges and universities and taking home what they learned.
Those who believe socialism will work wonders in America are typically the idle dreamers, like Bernie Sanders, who never worked a job until he became the mayor of Burlington, Vermont. He has been in government ever since. Socialism and communism wrecked the once most prosperous economy in South America, that of Venezuela, which enjoyed a robust economic income through the sale of its oil. What socialism and communism did accomplish in Venezuela was making the lives of its average citizens a living hell and beggaring them. The people of Venezuela were literally reduced to razing zoos and butchering the animals for food.
Socialist or Marxist mayors have been elected in several of our big cities, like New York, Seattle, and two more are contending for the mayoralties in Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Those Marxists who proclaim themselves as “Democratic-Socialists” would never recognize Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, or Lyndon Johnson as Democrats. For them, the world began the day Barack Obama took the oath of office for the first time. These folks have yet to lift any city in the country out of the rot, decay and filth that has permeated those big cities, all of which have been ruled by Democrats for decades. The only thing the socialists and communists have to offer is to make themselves the ruling class and spread the misery around for everyone else.
Much of where we are in our country today is due to our educational system. We have more means of communication than ever before, yet there seems to be less communication than ever. In my lifetime, there has never been less sense of community in Knox County. We have poured untold billions of tax dollars into education, having been told by the teachers’ unions and the school bureaucrats that money will solve every problem. Yet the results tell a very different and disappointing story. In California, where the unions are politically powerful, and Democrats have held sway for the past 30 years, according to a new Education Scorecard, reading scores are at the lowest point since 1990. Some say California is in the midst of a “learning recession.” We no longer teach civics in our schools and barely teach history, while the bureaucrats push the revisionist “history” created by far-leftists masquerading as scholars. That “history” is not true or even remotely accurate. Yet much of the thinking of today has been conceived and birthed in our classrooms.
Antonio Gramsci, who was quoted by Zohran Mamdani, once said the fall of Western civilization would come through the destruction of our culture. How right he was.
