Federal and State Primary, County General, and Town of Farragut Municipal Elections – Early Voting Information

As of July 14, there are over 268,000 active registered voters in Knox County

Early voting begins Friday, July 17 at 9 a.m. at the Karns Senior Center and 10 a.m. at an additional ten locations across Knox County. Voters will have a choice to vote one (1) of the following three (3) ballots:

  • A Republican State and Federal Primary, along with the Knox County General Ballot, or
  • A Democratic State and Federal Primary, along with the Knox County General Ballot, or
  • A Knox County General Ballot without a Primary selection.

Additionally, all voters will vote in the State General Election, featuring retention elections for seven (7) Judicial positions.

Finally, voters who reside in the town of Farragut will get to vote in the Town of Farragut Municipal Election, which features three (3) contests.

In total, depending on where a voter resides in Knox County, they will have between 24 and 27 races on their ballot. As a point of comparison, the May Knox County Primary Election provided voters with between 11 and 13 races on their ballot.

 

EARLY VOTING DAYS AND HOURS OF OPERATION

Early voting will be conducted daily from Friday, July 17, through Saturday, August 1, excluding Sundays. The standard hours are as follows:

 10 am to 6 pm – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

  • 10 am to 7 pm – Fridays
  • 10 am to 1 pm – First two Saturdays
  • 10 am to 3 pm – Last day – Saturday, August 1
  • Closed Sundays
  • Special hours at City County Building, Karns Senior Center, and Meridian Baptist Church (see next page)

EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS – ONE NEW LOCATION

There are eleven (11) locations across Knox County, with one new location. The east Knoxville location has moved a few doors down from its prior spot in the same building on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUESTS

The last day that voters can request an application for an absentee ballot is Monday, July 27, 2026; however, the Election Commission strongly recommends that individuals that wish to vote absentee make their request as soon as possible, to allow as much time as possible for the ballot to reach the voter and for the voter to return the ballot.
